A vaccinated Midwest man whose kidneys are, in fact, covered in cysts. The man is experiencing crippling pain that had this transparent postponing the day before the scheduled surgery. This was due to his donor being unvaccinated against the Corona Virus, his wife did say.

Vaccinated Man and His Life-Saving Surgery

Last week, Mike Ganim, 52, was due to undergo life-saving surgery. That was until the Cleveland Clinic did delay it. This was over new safety protocols regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. This is what his wife Debi said. Moreover, while her husband is vaccinating against the virus. The donor, Sue George, has chosen not to be, and the hospital does say, it presents a risk.

Polycystic Kidney Disease

At age 27, Mike Ganim was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. It is a condition that has covered his kidneys with cysts and thus causes pain, the outlet has reported.

Moreover, Debi Ganim does believe the hospital is gambling with her husband’s life. The Cleveland Clinic is issuing a statement to the station regarding its stance on the matter.

“Preventing COVID-19 infection around the time of a surgical operation is crucial for the living donor,” the statement reads, in part. “Moreover, the transparent candidate, in addition to a major operation, where medications are taken. This is after an organ transplant does weaken a person’s immune response. Moreover, there are serious complications of COVID-19. The state’s health system UCHealth has denied a kidney transparent in Colorado to a woman with stage 5 renal failure which is due to her and her donor that is being unvaccinated against COVID-19.
